The visit started in the cow's stable with explanation by our employees.
Besides livestock farming and the production of cheese we also realise guided tours within our company in order to let
young and old get to know the life on a (cheese) farm. To date we have hosted several school classes. In these
situations the contact with the animals is the main purpose for preschoolers; for elderly children the visit could be
combined with dedicated teaching material where assignments in and around the farm and cheese production area can be
executed. We release staff for these sessions in order to give explanations as well as guarantee safety for everybody.
Besides schools also other groups are very much welcome. A visit can be combined with one of many excursions in the
area, for example a visit to the museum windmill of Kinderdijk, or a canal tour by boat.
Be welcome to contact us for the possibilities.

The visit started in the cow's stable with explanation by our employees.
Cows are very curious so they wanted to investigate what the children were doing; a perfect moment to cuddle such large animal.
Also feeding was possible.
Then a visit to the young cattle was planned, luckily some lambs and a calf were just born.
The lambs were less scary than the grown-up cows.
After a visit to the stables it was also possible to see the cheese making process via a visitor corridor.
Finally it was time to taste the cheese with something to drink. There was cow, goat and sheep cheese.
It was raining quite hard, but luckily everybody fitted exactly in the wagon shed.
The children prepared a nice handmade work, which we placed on a wall in our building.

Preparations for the excursion.
Even when the cows walk around in the meadows, there is enough to discuss and see in the stable.
In combination with the teaching material also the meadows are visited in order to investigate both flora and fauna.
After the outside activities, explanation is given in the cheese production area about the production processes from fresh milk to the final cheese.
Due to hygiene the production area itself cannot be accessed; however in order to make all steps visible we prepared a visitor's wall with windows.
Explanation about the different cheese types is of course included.
After which it can be examined in detail by everybody in person.
Afterwards a refreshment, meanwhile enjoying the sunshine.

Explanation about the young cattle, on the picture about 6 months old.
It can be a bit scary, such a large and curious animal that sniffs at you.
During the visit also some newborn lambs could be touched.
As closure of an exciting afternoon, some cheese and a glass of lemonade taste delicious.
